Pokemon GO Reveals October 2024 Community Day Pokemon

Pokemon GO has revealed that Sewaddle will be the critter featured on October Community Day. Although it will be the month of Halloween, Pokemon GO players will have the chance to add the adorable little creature to their Pokedex and enjoy other bonuses available at the augmented reality game's monthly event.

Introduced in Gen 5, Sewaddle is a surprisingly useful little Bug/Grass-type for Pokemon players. With a body resembling a caterpillar, Sewaddle can use leaves and make clothes for itself, making it a much-loved critter for fashion designers. From level 20 onwards, it evolves into Swadloon, which in turn evolves into Leavanny only when it levels up with friendship at maximum level, making it an equally solid option for players due to its base stat.

Now, Pokemon GO has revealed that Sewaddle will be the featured monster on October's Community Day. The event will take place on October 5, starting at 10 am and ending at 5 pm local time, with Sewaddle appearing more frequently in the wild, and players having the chance to find a shiny one. Trainers who evolve Swadloon during the event will get a Leavanny that knows the Fast Attack Shadow Claw. Community Day-themed Special Research will be available for $1 USD, and among the available bonuses, players will earn double Candy when catching Pokemon, reduced Stardust cost for Trades, and extended duration for Lure Modules.

4-star raids featuring Swadloon will take place after Community Day
As with previous Pokemon GO Community Days, special four-star raids will be available on October 5 from 5-10 pm local time, this time being against Swadloon. By winning the battle, players will attract Sewaddle around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. Niantic will put a new Ultra Community Day Box on sale, and two bundles costing 1,350 and 480 PokeCoins, respectively. The event will also have a themed Field Research rewarding with Great Balls and Stardust, new PokeStop Showcases, and stickers that players can earn by opening gifts, spinning PokeStops, and buying in-game.

While players wait for October's Community Day to arrive, there are exciting activities in September to keep them occupied. After the anticipated debut of Dynamax forms and the Community Day featuring Ponyta, Hatenna will make its Pokemon GO debut in the upcoming Psychic Spectacular event that runs from September 18-22. Oranguru and Passimian will be the stars of Research Day on September 22, and shiny Zacian will be added to the game in the Legendary Heroes event, which starts on September 26.
