Embedded AI Security Comes to Lenovo PCs, Powered by SentinelOne
Last week, I put together an article discussing Lenovo’s AI PCs. In that article, we went over how the PCs “use natural interactions, personalized LLMs, and advanced computing architectures to make computing more personal by tailoring experiences to individual users.” Read more about it here.
Earlier this week, GenAI Today’s Alex Passett also wrote an article that covers Lenovo’s announcement of a new suite of services designed to, quote, "fast-track AI transformation’ by making private AI accessible to every business. As it paves its way towards a ‘Smarter AI for All’ future ahead, Lenovo’s new services bring on-demand generative AI directly to the customer, helping businesses use its on-prem proprietary data to harness GenAI." Read more on that story here.
Sticking to that “Smarter AI for All” mission, Lenovo, along with SentinelOne, announced a multi-year collaboration to bring AI-powered endpoint security to millions of Lenovo devices across the globe.
SentinelOne is a global autonomous AI-powered cybersecurity platform that is built on a unified Data Lake. Lenovo will include SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform and GenAI capabilities (Purple AI) in new PC shipments, as well as offer upgrades to existing customers to expand its ThinkShield security portfolio and autonomously protect devices from modern attacks.
SentinelOne's Singularity Platform is a cybersecurity solution that offers real-time protection against modern threats. The platform utilizes AI-powered behavioral analysis to detect and prevent attacks, providing rapid response and remediation capabilities.
Singularity's Purple AI further enhances its capabilities by use GenAI to streamline security operations and automate tasks. Purple AI analyzes vast amounts of data, identifies patterns, and provides actionable insights to security teams. This enables faster threat detection, investigation and response to improve overall security posture.
“The endpoint remains a primary vector of cyberattacks and the most critical part of a business’ ongoing operations. By working with Lenovo, we can rapidly scale AI-powered security to millions of PCs and servers across the globe,” said Akhil Kapoor, vice president of embedded business, SentinelOne. “It’s an opportunity for Lenovo and SentinelOne to give Lenovo customers a clear security and resiliency advantage by delivering intelligent devices that defend themselves in real time.”
Additionally, as part of the expanded collaboration, Lenovo will build a new MDR service using AI and EDR capabilities from SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform as its foundation.
“Cyber resilience is incredibly important for business continuity as organizations increasingly face the unpredictable. Our security services collaboration with SentinelOne is another key aspect of Lenovo’s cybersecurity and cyber resilience services intended to help protect customers from anomalous threats,” said Patricia Wilkey, senior vice president and general manager of Lenovo Solutions and Services Group International Sales.
As a PC vendor that sells tens of millions of devices annually, Lenovo’s devices that ship with SentinelOne’s AI-powered security will increase and benefit from Lenovo’s broad global sales and partner network. This means that Lenovo’s direct sales team and channel partners will provide cutting edge, built-in security to businesses of all sizes.
