Fortnite Adds Wild New Ghost Rider Skin
In a season already jam-packed with Marvel goodness, Epic Games has added the classic comic book character Ghost Rider to Fortnite, albeit in an incredibly wacky way fitting for the popular cartoon-inspired free-to-play shooter. This exciting new Fortnite skin is one of many Marvel collaborations in the game's new season, with more changes rumored.
Fortnite's content updates continue in late 2024, with the game welcoming one of its most anticipated and popular seasonal cycles yet: Absolute Doom. Pitting players against legendary Marvel villain Doctor Doom, Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 4 update adds a variety of special Marvel items and characters into the mix, making for one of the wildest and most exciting events yet. The season was a long time coming, following in the footsteps of Fortnite's Nexus Wars update, which saw several Marvel characters make their way into the battle pass, such as Iron Man, Wolverine, and Mystique, to name a few. Fortnite's current battle pass has done the same, though the game recently added a unique crossover skin to the item shop that may surprise fans.
Chapter 5 Season 4's new Ghost Ri-Durrr skin carries on the game's tradition of mixing iconic characters with Fortnite's art style. The new skin sees Ghost Rider mix with Fortnite's iconic Beef Boss skin, a character that spawned from the in-game fast food restaurant Durrr Burger. Now, however, players have the chance to purchase a new skin inspired by both characters, featuring fun details from both Ghost Rider and Beef Boss. The skin debuted in Fortnite's ever-growing item shop on September 18, adding on to the game's vast assortment of Marvel-themed cosmetics.
New Fortnite Ghost Ri-Durrr Skin
This is far from the first time Fortnite has pulled something like this, with this season's battle pass featuring a crossover skin between Wolverine and Peeley. In addition to the new Ghost Ri-Durrr skin, players can seemingly look forward to new Spider-Man content as well. Fortnite leakers discovered files that suggest a new Venom/Spider-Man crossover is on the way, though it's unclear what exactly this entails. Both characters have made their Fortnite debut, but it's been a while since they got updated skins.
Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 4 update, titled Absolute Doom, began in August, transforming several areas on the map into massive castles and town squares controlled by Doctor Doom himself. Players have the option of facing off against iconic Marvel villains like Emma Frost, Mysterio, and Doctor Doom himself, each one of which will drop medallions that grant special powers. Absolute Doom concludes on November 2, 2024, giving players ample time to complete the battle pass and the plethora of extra rewards offered this Fortnite season.
