Gmail's AI-Driven Search Feature Now Available for iPhone Users

Google has launched Gmail's AI-driven search feature for iPhone users. This service, previously available on Android and web platforms, is now accessible to Google Workspace and various premium customers on iOS devices. The feature enables efficient email management with the help of Gemini, Google's large language model.

Key Capabilities:

  • Users can ask questions about their inbox

  • Filter messages by sender or read status

  • Summarize email threads on specific topics

  • Perform general search queries within the Gmail app

This functionality aims to streamline email management and make finding information quicker and easier for those who access Gmail on their iPhones.

Availability:
The Gmail AI assistant for iPhone users will be available for:

  • Google Workspace customers

  • Add-on customers include:

1. Gemini Business
2. Enterprise
3. Education
4. Education Premium
5. Google One AI Premium users

How to Access:

To use Gmail Q&A on iPhones:

  • Ensure smart features and personalization are turned on

  • Admins can enable the default personalization setting for users in the Admin console

  • End users can access the feature by:

1. Opening Gemini via the star icon at the top right of the Gmail app
2. Using the "summarize this email" chip

Currently, Gmail Q&A can find information from the user's inbox. Shortly, it will also be able to access information from the user's Google Drive.

Note: Gmail Q&A is currently available only in English.

This update represents Google's ongoing efforts to integrate AI capabilities into its email service, enhancing user productivity and email management efficiency across different platforms.
