Google is developing software AI agent ahead of annual conference

Alphabet’s Google is reportedly showcasing a range of AI-driven tools, including a software development AI agent, to employees and select developers ahead of its annual I/O conference, according to The Information.

This AI agent is designed to assist software engineers through every phase of the development cycle — from task management to code documentation, based on insights from insiders familiar with the product demos.

Additionally, Google is expected to unveil new integrations of its Gemini AI chatbot in voice mode with Android XR glasses and headsets.

With mounting pressure from investors to deliver AI-driven growth and rising regulatory scrutiny on its core businesses, Google is positioning AI at the heart of its innovation strategy.

The much-anticipated Google I/O 2025 is set for next week in Mountain View, California, with the keynote scheduled for May 20.
