Infosys and the Linux Foundation Join Forces to Advance Responsible AI Across Global Networks
Infosys, India’s leading IT and consulting firm, has teamed up with the Linux Foundation Networking (LFN) to promote Responsible AI principles and support the global adoption of AI technologies. This collaboration is focused on ensuring the ethical and transparent use of AI across the network industry.
As part of this partnership, Infosys has contributed its Responsible AI Toolkit and AI application development framework to two open-source networking projects, Salus and Essedum.
These initiatives aim to assist organizations in implementing AI while minimizing risks such as bias or privacy issues.
Salus offers technical guidelines to identify and mitigate AI-related risks, including harmful content, privacy breaches, and biased outcomes. Essedum helps integrate AI models, data, and applications into the networking industry.
Arpit Joshipura, General Manager of Networking, Edge, and IoT at the Linux Foundation, commented, “Creating combined, open, and unified frameworks will accelerate AI-driven innovation.”
Mohammed Rafee Tarafdar, Chief Technology Officer at Infosys, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, saying, “With our strong AI capabilities, powered by Infosys Topaz, we actively support this initiative, helping organizations harness domain-specific AI responsibly and effectively across global networks.”
The Responsible AI Toolkit is built on Infosys’ AI3S framework (Scan, Shield, and Steer), which includes advanced guardrails like AI models and shielding algorithms to detect and address security threats, privacy violations, biased outputs, deepfakes, and other risks. It also improves explainability, offering insights into AI-generated decisions without affecting performance. Customizable and adaptable, the toolkit is compatible with various AI systems and supports both cloud and on-premise deployments.
