Crypto Exchange OKX to Launch AUD Trading Pairs For Australian Customers

OKX is expanding its services by introducing major cryptocurrency trading pairs against the Australian dollar (AUD), in response to strong demand from its Australian user base.

The crypto exchange announced on Monday that it will now offer order book-based AUD pairs, enhancing traders’ ability to make informed decisions. This makes OKX the largest global exchange to provide such AUD trading pairs for spot transactions in Australia.

Australian users of OKX will be able to trade popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and stablecoins such as Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) against the AUD.

Jamie Kennedy, General Manager of OKX Australia, stated that the introduction of these trading pairs is a direct response to customer demand and crucial for advancing the local crypto ecosystem. He emphasized that OKX is committed to investing in and developing new, localized products to support its vision.

OKX officially entered the Australian market in May, following the establishment of its Sydney office the previous year. The exchange claims to be the largest global platform offering direct AUD deposits and withdrawals in Australia.

Kennedy highlighted that Australian crypto users need a secure and user-friendly platform with easy access to banking options and popular cryptocurrency pairs. OKX has also received preliminary approval for a payments license in Singapore and launched operations in Turkey earlier this year.

Furthermore, OKX was honored with the "WeMoney Cryptocurrency Awards 2024" for crypto exchange of the year in Australia. Kennedy noted that these awards reflect the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, and reaffirmed their goal to enhance their suite of crypto products and contribute to the growth of the Australian crypto ecosystem.
